Update on travel

These maps are usually not really true, since they color a whole country even if one’s visited only a tiny bit thereof — and the contrary goes for very small countries: find Singapore on that map… At any rate this map can be broken down as:
- USA [NYC, Honolulu, SF Bay Area]
- South Africa [Johanesburg]
- Morocco [Marrakech, Casablanca]
- Spain [Seo de Urgel, Reus & Priorat, Valladolid & Toro]
- Andorra
- France [lots of places!]
- Belgium [ditto]
- Luxembourg [duh]
- Switzerland [no cities, mostly crossing that country to go elsewhere]
- Italy [lots of places, most visited: Napoli & Roma]
- Holland [Amsterdam, Lisse]
- Germany [Köln, Bonn, Dortmund, Soest, Berlin, Hamburg, München & Bavaria]
- East-Germany, way back when [Ost-Berlin]
- Austria
- Hungary [Budapest mostly]
- Romania [Bucuresti, Constanta, some place on the Black Sea]
- UK [London, Hong Kong back when it belonged to the UK]
- Poland [Warsaw]
- Czech Republic [Prag]
- Finland [Helsinki, Turku, Laantali]
- Greece [Athens]
- Korea [many many places]
- Japan [Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, some other places in Kansai]
- China [Beijing, Shanghai, Canton, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Macao, Hong Kong]
- Taiwan [Taipei, Tainan]
- Indonesia [Jakarta]
- Malaysia [Kuala Lumpur]
- Singapore [duh]
- Thailand [Bangkok]
- Viêtnam [Saigon]
I think that’s about it. What’s not reflected in that list is the frequency — I know Napoli much much better than Warsaw or Jakarta, for instance. And there’s a much higher probability for me to visit again Tainan — October 15 I think — than Turku. As for additions to this list I can foresee Kaohsiung [Taiwan], Hanoi [Viêtnam], Phuket [Thailand], Malé [Maldives], Port Louis [Mauritius], Colombo [Sri Lanka], Manila [.ph], New Delhi [India, not really enthusiastic about that one], and Victoria [Seychelles].
Sadly enough, I get very little time to do tourism, and most of my time while “visiting” these places these days is spent in offices or hotels…
